AZPlayBall PONY Baseball
We are the largest competitive and developmental youth baseball league, serving the Scottsdale and Phoenix area. Using real MLB baseball rules, modified for youth, including lead-offs, base stealing, and pick-offs..
We serve players ages 8 through 19, as well as a Tee Ball division. Our high school division, gives players an opportunity to play high school level baseball if and when they are not playing for their high school team.
We also have availability for girls’ softball. Most of our teams are club/tournament teams and we serve them by providing ways to develop their players and programs by having consistent practice fields, and competitive games that are outside of the tournament environment. We work around team’s tournamentschedules to give them this opportunity.
Our services help these teams develop their players for the next level, improve the skills of their lesser experienced players, and give all of the players what we like to call “a safe place to fail“ which means that they can give maximum effort without the concern of failure costing their team a tournament victory. We have found, that without competitive non-tournament games and regular and consistent practice time for strengthening, conditioning, and skill development, that players may miss out on important physical and emotional disciplines that will serve them in the future on the baseball field, and in life in general.
We accept individual player and full team registrations. We have multiple seasons per year, running from mid-August to the end of May.
AZPlayball, a PONY Baseball league, founded by Jim Teeter, has been serving the valley’s youth since 1995. We are a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization that upholds the PONY values through promoting teamwork, positive character building, good sportsmanship and friendly competition in all aspects of the game, all while developing the fundamental skills of baseball.PONY Baseball is a national chartering organization established in 1951.
The acronym “PONY” stands for PROTECT OUR NATIONS’ YOUTH. AZPlayball is chartered by PONY baseball and has been serving the Scottsdale and Greater Phoenix Area continuously since 1995.
